Wednesday Nights – CLASSES

FAQs

What are Wednesday Night classes?
Conveniently timed to be a mid-week check-in with your church family, these classes put practical next steps to explore your faith. On Sundays, you’re able to attend, worship and join in community—this mid-week opportunity is an extension of putting practice to Biblical truths.

Are the classes the same every semester?
Because of diversity of staff and church members, UC is able to offer many classes that change each semester. In addition to content changing, style of classes can range from video studies to interactive classes, from asking questions to exploring Biblical authors.

Who can participate in Wednesday Night classes?
Simply: everyone. To expand: our desire is to provide spaces for anyone and everyone to find community centered and surrounded by Jesus. These classes are open for anyone willing and wanting to explore faith—from those beginning the journey, to those who continue to develop their relationship with Jesus.

Can I invite a friend or co-worker?
Absolutely! As we always encourage you to grow in community, invitation into that community is vital. What would it look like to invite a friend or co-worker into your faith? Wednesday Night classes are a great way to explore topics of faith and encourage anyone to ask questions!

The Bible tells us that Jesus’ followers are called disciples. If we want to be counted among those followers, then doesn’t it make sense that we figure out just what being a disciple looks like in everyday life?

In The Means of Grace, Andrew C. Thompson presents a clear and accessible explanation of the core tenets John Wesley instilled in the early Methodist movement—baptism, searching the scriptures, prayer, The Lord’s Supper, fasting, fellowship, accountability, works of mercy, and exercising the presence of God. Each means of grace is drawn from biblical examples and paired with a framework to offer a real, practical model for a life marked by holy love and holy transformation.

Wesley had a phrase for what it means to live faithfully as a disciple of Jesus: walking in the ways of God. Together, the means of grace demonstrate a Wesleyan pattern of discipleship and help us understand what these ways of God are.

How might we be more intentional about being the kind of families, spouses, and parents that help our children flourish? Seek to discern how families can nurture faith, find hope, and grow in love of God & neighbor.

This semester, we’ll be unpacking foundational truths of our faith (baptism, scriptures, prayer, The Lord’s Supper, fasting, fellowship, accountability, and more) … and what that looks like in our everyday life as families. We’ll follow a series called “The Means of Grace” by Andrew C. Thompson to help us lay framework for practical and faithful living as families following Christ.
