Celebrate Recovery

in-person only, no livestream

The purpose of Celebrate Recovery is to fellowship and celebrate God´s healing power in our lives through the 12 Steps and 8 Recovery Principles. This experience allows us to be changed.  We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths and hopes with one another. In addition, we become willing to accept God´s grace in solving our lives´ problems. By working and applying these biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy and – most importantly – a stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through the program we discover our personal, loving and forgiving Higher Power – Jesus Christ, the one and only true Higher Power.

*Anything that hinders your walk with God. HURTS are emotional reactions to another person’s behavior or to disturbing situations (abuse, abandonment, codependency, divorce, etc.). HABITS are addictions to someone or something (alcohol, food, gambling, sex, shopping, smoking, etc.). HANG-UPS are negative mental attitudes that are used to cope with people or adversity (anger, depression, fear, unforgiveness, etc.).

What to Expect

Whatever service you attend, you’ll be part of an experience of worship that includes music (choir and hymns at the traditional service; a praise band at all other services), prayer and engaging teaching by one of our pastors. The Sunday 8:45 AM service is more traditional; and the other Sunday services are more contemporary (especially the 11:30 service). Services last about 60 minutes (though the 11:30 service is sometimes longer!).

You needn’t dress up; come as you are comfortable.

We won’t single you out, but it would be great if you’d let us know you are here either by filling out a Communication Card or by stopping by the Welcome area. (In some services it’s called a “Connect Table.”)

Consider this service a gift to you; don’t feel any pressure to contribute to the offering.

We live-stream our services on Facebook, if you want to take a peek in advance.

If You Have Kids

At University Carillon we are committed to offering a safe, secure, and loving environment where each child can experience the love of Jesus through creative and exciting programs. All staff and volunteers are background checked and trained for their classrooms.

Why do my kids start out in service?
As a church, we believe that families worshipping together is vital in spiritual growth—of the kids, family and church as a whole. A practical way to grow a healthy church is by encouraging kids to be a part of church service.

As we’ve seen over the years, kids worshipping in church service is twofold: individual spiritual growth of the kids (and helping to transition after their Kids Ministry days), and the growth of the congregation as they are inspired by getting to see kids of all ages worshipping.

What does this look like?
Check-in will be in the front church lobby before service. Then kids (ages VPK—5th grade) will start out in service with parents/grandparents for the first two songs of worship. Kids Ministry leaders will then walk kids to their classes (where you will later pick them up) for the remainder of the service.

What will my kids be learning in their classes?
We use Orange Curriculum! Our goal is to walk alongside your kids to develop a deeper faith, build strong relationships, and ask big questions about their faith through Bible stories, worship and small groups.
