Welcome to the Sucher Dominican Republic Mission Team!

Thank you for opening up your heart, your mind and your ears to hear God’s call to Sosua, Dominican Republic—for going where God called you to go, discovering who your neighbors are and sharing of yourself in His name.

Check your supply box for more info, itinerary, devotional booklet, recipe cards, crafts and more!

How this trip will work: Each day “begins” at 9 AM—that’s when the page goes LIVE (daily). You can travel and explore at your own pace … but we would love for you to participate in the LIVE component (morning devotional via ZOOM at 9 AM), however, it’s not required. Each day should take no more than 3 hours to complete (with activity times included).

MAJOR PROJECT: KITCHEN

As we do with in-person mission trips, we will have a major project that will be funded through this virtual trip! We will be helping to add a kitchen in the Congrejo Church.

June 25: DAY FIVE

Featured Video

Pastors have to travel around a lot and most don’t have any vehicle, so they are always walking to and from church and helping in their communities.  Thanks to the Christian Motorcycle Association, Rick has been able to get motorcycles for many of them.  Lest go learn about that and meet some of the pastors.

Now we hop on the bus and go to Charimicos.  This is where the Bible College is as well as the English classes.  Rick started these programs so let’s talk to him and hear from some of the students.  It’s exciting to see the impact these schools are having in this community.

Some Next Steps: Find out more about Rick Sucher’s Ministry in the Dominican Republic by visiting his website (https://www.sucherministries.com/). Where In The World (WITW)

This is the new church in Congrejo Rick has connected with.  It sits right on a main road, unlike the others situated in the middle of a village.  There are many children in the area, so we are hoping to establish a feeding program there by adding on a small kitchen like in Redemption.  Rick will give us a tour and tell the story of meeting Pastor Luis, then we will see some of the kids.

Bible Story

Jesus and The Prodigal Son
Luke 15:11-32

Jesus is someone who is full of grace, love and power … and wants to know you on a personal level. In today’s story, we learn that you are not too young or too old to make a difference in this world. Check out this truth played out in our skit of “Jesus and The Prodigal Son.”

Craft

It’s A Party!
Supplies from your box: party hat, assorted craft items (you can use your own as well!), glue, scissors

Project

This is another project we did 3 years ago.  This sweet family had outgrown its space and there was no room for a kitchen or place to cook except outdoors.  Fortunately, we had the right size team to tackle it.  They were so grateful to have inside space to cook for the family.

And That’s a Wrap!

It has become a tradition that we have a water balloon event on our last day in Redemption Village.  The kids look forward to it with excitement.  You will see in this video exactly what I mean.  Let the fun begin!!

Dinner Together LIVE & in-person Friday, 6:30 PM at University Carillon

Come prepared to sing the song you’ve been practicing (Grande y Fuerte), eat some great Dominican food and play!
