Across the street from the University of Central Florida, Vessel began over 10 years ago with a burden to reach the campus. While that initial burden remains part of our DNA, God continues to blow wide the limits of our imagination and expand our vision to include people of all ages and stages.

While all three services meeting on a Sunday share one heart, Vessel incorporates some different elements into our Sunday services and the life of our community. We have a different pastor, some different service elements (i.e. prayer response time, weekly communion, extended greeting time) as well as some different discipleship opportunities. The sermons will often cover different topics as well. While the other services tend to go no longer than an hour, Vessel tends to go for about an hour and 15 minutes.
Yes! Our community is very diverse in age. All are welcome.
Truly, whatever you’re most comfortable in! Feel free to dress up, but most people dress casually (jeans are totally fine).
A space for kids to be kids while learning about Jesus.
A space beyond Sundays for middle and high school students to discover who Jesus is through worship, friends, small groups, as well as food, games, and of course … dodgeball.
A space beyond Sundays for college students to find hope in Jesus, home in a local church, and have a hand in someone’s story.
A space geared toward those who are out of college, in their mid-20s to 40s, to form deep, meaningful friendships that lead to practical discipleship.

Sunday mornings, rotational basis (flexible)
It is our firm conviction and deep joy to partner with God in prayer. We believe there are things that will not happen if we do not pray (Mark 9:29). We believe God hears, responds, and speaks when we pray. We believe God longs to speak not just to us, but through us to one another, in prayer. We believe that God has called His church to be a praying people, resting in His love, pouring out our hearts, and taking up arms against the spiritual powers at be to fight for more of His love and presence in the world (Eph. 6:12).

We want to be a community that is active & intentional with our faith, pursuing God’s presence and allowing Him to form us into genuine family, fill us as His vessel(s), and flow through us, moving us to pursue the world He loves.
We need intentional space smaller than Sunday mornings to know and be known, and to become more like Jesus.
Vessel exists as a worshiping community of University Carillon, unique in approach, yet united in mission. Across the street from the University of Central Florida, Vessel began over 10 years ago with a burden to reach the campus. While that initial burden remains part of our DNA, God continues to blow wide the limits of our imagination and expand our vision to include people of all ages and stages. This vision is Vessel.
Our heart is to become one family, pursuing the presence of Jesus and the people He loves. You can read more about that below, but in essence, it means we want to be a community that is active & intentional with our faith, pursuing God’s presence and allowing Him to form us into genuine family, fill us as His vessel(s), and flow through us, moving us to pursue the world He loves.
One – We believe the body of Christ is meant to be one in mission yet diverse in age, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, personality, background, and gifting. So we strive for a “oneness” that looks different than the world, aiming for unity over uniformity (John 17:21; Gal. 3:28)
… family – When we become God’s children, we also become family. So we don’t want to just share a room on Sundays; we want to seek out times to share life, share food, share joys, and share burdens. We also use this word to remind ourselves that Biblical families functioned as teams, so becoming family means supporting one another in the common goal of being with Jesus, becoming like Him, and being His hands and feet to the world.
… pursuing – This reminds us that life with Jesus takes more than convenient devotion or casual church attendance; it’s a call to active intentionality, a life of pursuit.
… the presence of Jesus – Jesus ascended into heaven, but He left us with the Holy Spirit. We believe in the here-and-now, living presence of God – the Holy Spirit – and want to prioritize His presence in our individual lives and community gatherings. (John 16:7, John 14:21)
…and the people He loves – We will never lock eyes with a person Jesus does not love. So we pursue one another in love, remembering how Jesus said the world would know Him by our love for one another (John 13:35). We also live sent lives, seeing ourselves as daily missionaries pursuing family members … friends … roommates … neighbors … strangers … the poor, the oppressed … with the extravagant love and truth of Jesus.
