Main Idea

We often tend to think that there are good people and bad people, and they just kind of stay that way. But the truth is, Jesus is in the business of changing hearts and leading people to him. Take Gru, for instance. He begins as a villain, but some kids change his outlook on life, and turn him into a softie. In the same way Jesus met Saul (a bad guy), and turned him into Paul (an immensely good guy). There is hope for all of us, no matter where we have come from and where we are going.

Scripture

Romans 8:35-39
35 Who can separate us from Christ’s love? Can trouble or hard times or harm or hunger? Can nakedness or danger or war?
36 It is written, “Because of you, we face death all day long. We are considered as sheep to be killed.” (Psalm 44:22)
37 No! In all these things we will do even more than win! We owe it all to Christ, who has loved us.
38 I am absolutely sure that not even death or life can separate us from God’s love. Not even angels or demons, the present or the future, or any powers can do that.
39 Not even the highest places or the lowest, or anything else in all creation can do that. Nothing at all can ever separate us from God’s love because of what Christ Jesus our Lord has done.

John 3:16-17
16 “God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son. Anyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life.
17 “God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world. He sent his Son to save the world through him.
