Summer is coming quick and we can’t think of a better way for current 5th graders to enjoy theirs than spending it at EPIC’s 6th GRADE CAMP! All students entering 6th grade in the fall of 2024 are welcome and invited to join. There will be plenty of games, sports, team challenges, hangout time in the EPIC game room, and more. Each day will also include snack, a short devotional, and small group time. The week will culminate with a fun day! This is a great opportunity for them to meet other students making that next big step into middle school, as well as get connected to EPIC before the year even begins.

Registration is open until May 26.

Confirmation is a 10-week journey for all students, 8th–12th grade, who want to walk through the story of God to learn the foundations of following Jesus within our tradition of faith. Our hope is to build fun, deep community as we spend time in scripture, prayer and conversation and unpack what it means to be a Christian in today’s world. (Light “homework” reading the booklet and scriptures is required weekly.)

Confirmation is also a way we, in the Wesleyan tradition, invite students to “confirm” their baptism (if they were baptized as a baby; if not, students will have the opportunity to be baptized at the end of the journey). It’s also a way students can become official “members” of our larger UC family.

MENTORS
Our hope is always that Confirmation would not just be an informative, educational process, but also a formative and relational one. With that in mind, we’re excited to include the involvement of Confirmation mentors to students’ Confirmation journey this year! Mentors are adults who we love and trust, are heavily involved in the life of the church, are strong in their walk with the Lord, and have a love for students.

NoteWe highly encourage walking through Confirmation to ultimately be the student’s choice (of course, with parental guidance and support!). We consistently find that students who choose to walk through Confirmation because of their own curiosity, and/or desire to grow and mature in their faith, receive abundantly more from the journey.

The cost for Confirmation ($90) includes HS retreat cost, new Bible and Confirmation resources, weekly snacks and more. As always, if cost is an issue for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us (EPIC@universitycarillon.net). We never want cost to be the reason a student doesn’t participate in this next step of the walk with God!
