HS Leadership

SLACC is a team of high school leaders who are pursuing Jesus, and want to serve and form lasting connections with the next generation of middle schoolers walking through our doors. Practically, that looks like SLACC Team serving on Wednesday nights for our Middle School gathering: whether that’s through Hype Team, in the Cafe, helping with small groups, or whatever else is needed. SLACC dues are $20 yearly (includes T-Shirt and random events).

Note: serving on SLACC does count for Bright Futures hours! But our heart for SLACC is not that to have a team for middle school crowd control, but a team of leaders learning to follow Jesus (not perfectly but intentionally) who want to help younger students do the same. Because of that, SLACC leaders must be plugged into the life of the HS EPIC community to be part of the team.

The SLACC time commitment on Wednesdays is 5-8:30PM, 2+ Wednesdays per month.

Incoming high schoolers who
– are/will be plugged into the High School EPIC community on Sundays
– wants to grow in your relationship with Jesus
– has a heart for loving & learning to lead younger middle school studnets
– has some free time most Wednesday nights (5-8:30PM)

There’s a SLACC Interest Meeting every fall. If you miss that, reach out to EPIC directly ( so we can fill you in and get you an application!

Hey guys! We’re excited that you’re interested in stepping into deeper commitment and greater leadership with Jesus. Student Servants (aka STUDs, because sometimes Student Servants takes too long to say) is a leadership and discipleship opportunity, taking your faith and role at EPIC a step deeper.

The heart behind being a Student Servant is a commitment to taking your relationship with God seriously – to wrestling with God, knowing His word, daring to get creative and sacrificial in following Him – and tapping into the power, love and self-control God gives you to lead.

We’re so excited to grow with you in this! We believe being a disciple is a big deal, and the biggest thing that qualifies you (besides God’s grace) is you being willing. Willing to grow. Willing to step beyond your comfort zone. Willing to be challenged. Willing to lead. And most of all, willing to fall more in love with Jesus as you do.

Who is STUDs for?

  • Current HS juniors & seniors involved at EPIC who are teachable, following Jesus, and willing to put in the time to grow personally and lead in the spaces God is calling you to.

  • You to be present (at meetings, HS EPIC, other events, etc.) as often as possible. This probably means being wise with how you schedule homework, hanging out with friends, and other priorities, to make coming possible.
  • You to take initiative in being a leader – not just with MS students on Wednesdays, but with other high schoolers on Sundays.
  • You to hold yourself, in & outside of this place, to a standard and “in a manner worthy of the gospel of Jesus” (Phil 1:27).
  • You to be honest. We want your feedback on what you’re loving, what you don’t see but would love to, ideas you have, etc. We also want to know how you’re doing! No one leads in a vacuum – we know there’s a lot going on in your life outside of this place. We’re here for you.

  • You to be perfect or have all the answers.
  • You to show up at everything, all the time. We know you’re busy! Part of being a leader and of growth in Christ is taking intentional time to rest.

It’s pretty simple. We believe that every student who walks through our doors is loved like crazy by Jesus. And we love every moment we get to pour into them on Sundays & Wednesdays! But as a staff team, we only have so many hours a week. We have limited life experience and gifts. And over and over, we see how powerful it is when students have trusted adults beyond their family who love Jesus, care about them, and show up consistently. Dream Team: that’s where you come in!

We’re calling you the Dream Team because whether you’re serving Papa Johns, playing dodgeball or leading a small group, our heart for EPIC volunteers isn’t that you’re crowd control or just helping us with a checklist. Whenever you’re available, however you serve, you’re part of what we dream for this place: that discipleship — or generations of Jesus-followers pouring into the next generation — would be part of EPIC’s DNA.

Reach out to if you’re interested; we would love to share more, answer any questions you have, and send you an application!

NOTE: all adult volunteers must be background checked, and complete a Ministry Safe training as we keep children safety and those who serve them at the forefront of our care.
